dCS Lina DAC X

The DAC X is the full-width model in dCS's Lina range, the latest addition to what dCS calls a multi-award-winning product line.

It uses dCS's Ring DAC architecture, which dCS says reduces noise and distortion to vanishing levels, built on a single flex-rigid PCB design dCS describes as unique in audio for a cleaner signal path, and is designed with an upgradable architecture for long-term use.

The Headphone Amplifier and Master Clock are configuration add-ons below rather than separate purchases.

DAC X (included in every configuration)

• Formats: PCM 44.1 to 384 kS/s up to 24 bit, DSD/64 and DSD/128, native DSD and DoP
• Inputs: two AES/EBU on XLR, S/PDIF on BNC and RCA, TOSLINK, USB Type B
• Outputs: balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA, levels 0.2V, 0.6V, 2V and 6V rms

Headphone Amplifier add-on

• Adds: solid state Super Class AB output stage, very low output impedance for driving a wide range of headphones properly
• Outputs: dual 3 pin balanced XLR, single 4 pin balanced XLR, 6.35 mm jack
• Output power: 2W balanced into 30 ohms, 0.48W balanced into 300 ohms

Master Clock add-on

• Adds: Grade 1 clock, dual oven controlled crystal oscillators
• Accuracy: better than 1 ppm when shipped, 5 to 45 degrees C
• Startup: about ten minutes to rated accuracy
