The SL Mono MK II is a mono-specific derivative of the S Series MK II platform, sharing its tapered aluminum cantilever, cryogenically treated yoke and pole pieces, and non-resonant body.

It is distinguished by a two-coil design and a Shibata diamond stylus profile optimized for mono grooves.

Moving coil design with no field-replaceable stylus; a worn cartridge is sent to a third-party retip service rather than swapped like a moving magnet stylus.
