McIntosh MT5 Precision Turntable

The step-up turntable in McIntosh's range, which McIntosh describes as more than the sum of its parts. Its chassis materials are chosen to suppress noise, resonance and coloration, and the illuminated platter is magnetically suspended, as are its bearings. Tracking force, antiskate, overhang and arm height all come factory-preset.

Fitted with a Sumiko Amethyst moving magnet cartridge, a high-output design with a nude line-contact diamond stylus that McIntosh describes as an over-achieving moving magnet able to emulate the sound of a moving coil. No built-in phono stage, so it needs an external phono preamp.
